The New-York based company, Vimeo, has decided to expand its global presence by adding new subtitling, translation and currencies features for video-creators who use Vimeo Pro and Vimeo on Demand tools. With the help of a free self-creator service, powered by Amara, they can create subtitle or caption files for videos or buy them through a professional network of translators.
Beside these additional tools, the video-sharing platform will also provide a Japanese version of the site, as a part of its localization strategy. Vimeo is currently available in English, French, German and Spanish, and now adds one more language, because Japan becomes an important market with a large community of video creators.
Moreover, the company also announced a larger list of currencies for Vimeo Pro and Plus subscribers by accepting US dollar, EURO, Australian Dolar, Japanese Yen, Swish Franc, Canadian Dollar, Swedish Krona and more.
