Great achievement for the Russian version of Google also known as Yandex these days, as it managed to beat the search engine from California to offline translations on iOS.
“Google of Russia” has released a new update for the translation app that brings the offline mode to all users around the world. Although Google Translate has already this feature available on Android platform, it requires connectivity for iOS.
Thanks to Yandex.Translate app, the Russian search engine is one step ahead the giant Google, offering five language combinations for the moment: English-German, English-French, English-Italian, English-Spanish, English-Russian. An useful and reliable feature for everyone who’s travelling overseas and needs an offline translation database.
However, this new feature does have several limitations in the offline mode, allowing a less accurate translation with the possibility to retain 10 ways to translate a phrase.
